Mark Sandy

I am currently serving as bi-vocational pastor at Parkview Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas. I have served in full-time church ministry in youth, children’s ministry for 20+ years, pastoring for 7 years, 5 of those at Parkview. I am originally from Florence, Alabama, though we have served in churches in New Mexico, Texas, Tennessee, and Arkansas. We have lived in Arkansas for 15 years and have made El Dorado our home for the past 10.

Successful providing discipleship, welcoming new members, facilitating pastoral care and teaching/preaching from pulplit and small groups.

Accomplished in contributing to spiritual formation and disciple-making efforts. Excited to bring talent and spiritual leadership to growing church.

Growing up on a dairy farm in North Alabama, my family always made church attendance and involvement a priority. At the age of 12, I made a profession of faith and was baptized. However, beyond going to church there was very little evidence of regeneration as I continued through high school. 

During my first year of college, at a church event, God brought me to a place of repentance, and I surrendered to His Lordship over my life. God truly made me into a new creation. Surrendering to Christ has taken place many, many times since as God continues to grow me into the likeness of Christ. 

My call to ministry was something I gradually grew into as I was obedient to the ministry opportunities God gave me. Through my experience in preschool, children, youth, and pastoral ministry, I have developed an understanding and vision for the priority and mission of the local church. Being “on mission” with the Lord and making disciples has been the goal of my life wherever He calls me, whether that is preaching behind a pulpit, teaching a small group, or engaging with young or old alike.
