I chose Civil Engineering due to its impact on today's society. I aim to have a positive and sustainable impact on my community and all the people I could reach. I am seeking opportunities that will enlarge my knowledge and refine my skills to better serve others as a Civil Engineer. I am organized and dependable. Successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude. Willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals. I enjoy making connection and building relationships with those around me.
I just started working on a competition Project at BYU. I have always been interested in sustainable engineering and the Solar Decathlon was the perfect opportunity to pursue my interest. I am currently learning how to test concrete and I inspect the work done on the project twice a week.
Currently working on campus on a record digitizing project that is run by the History Department. Those records are in multiple different languages and are over a century old. It has been fun to decode some of the harder things to read but thankfully, I work with an amazing team that is willing to help.
I co-taught a free English class twice a week to the members of the community. The program was sponsored by LDSC. This opportunity enabled me to learn how to be personable. I was able to built life-long connections with the people I worked with.
I interpreted in Arabic, Kurdish, Aramaic, and English during meeting that the NGO officers had with government officials and other charity organizations. I also helped connect the NGO officers with the people in the refugee camps during their visits.
