May, 2018: Assets and employees of Adkins Construction were acquired by Bedrock Sewer and Water. At Bedrock, I was allowed to take on new responsibility and grow into a self sufficient, two crew operation.

I was now fully responsible for my own projects from estimating all the way to billing and closeout. I developed an extremely loyal customer base and a reputation in the industry as being a resource for value engineering and project problem solving. My responsibility in the duties listed were individually held and absolute.

  • Estimated, sold, and managed all projects for the residential division within Bedrock Sewer and Water
  • Acquired all appropriate building permits, Right of Way permitting across wide variety of Counties and Municipalities.
  • Communicated project schedules and installation plans/methods clearly and concisely with local municipalities.
  • Collaborated with building inspection departments clearly. Developed strong reputation for honesty and integrity, expediting inspection approvals.
  • Managed all Diggers Hotline tickets for all projects.
  • Received estimates and issued PO's for subcontractors and material purchases.
  • Managed job schedules in their entirety.

Attended tech school classes, working towards Journeyman Plumber Restricted Service license. Continued to learn the industry inside and out, developing relationships industry wide.

  • 2011: Signed as Journeyman Heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineers Local 139. Continuing to work on site, performing all orders of operation on site as needed. Performed all crew duties at high level.
  • 2013: Promoted to Foreman. As Foreman, I oversaw the installation of hundreds of residential laterals and commercial site utility projects within all municipalities in southeastern Wisconsin. Developed close relationships with contractors, inspectors and public works departments. In this time I also was able to learn estimating and some project management duties though close interaction with the owner.
  • 2015: Offered position as Project Manager/ Estimator. I worked closely with the owner, estimating and managing projects. Learned all aspects of project management and estimating. Obtained Master Plumber Restricted Service license. Sole management of projects was turned over to me with little oversight until the eventual sale of Adkins Construction to Bedrock Sewer and Water in May 2018.

Accomplishments

  • Successfully estimated, sold, managed and completed the Brookfield Hills Community Well Service conversion to Brookfield City Water for Wimmer Communities In 2017. Upgrading an apartment complex water system from well, to meet City of Brookfield requirements and make final connections to City system and well abandonment. Completed in time and under budget.
  • Estimated, sold, managed and completed Lac La Belle Golf Course site drainage, sanitary sewer, and water service installation in 2018. This included 3 on site underground stormwater detension systems. Fun and exciting project brought to me through hearsay with small builder contact. A site visit and quick conversation had me in drivers seat for project contract.
