Accomplishments

  • Employees for a company that I worked for traveled frequently and stayed in 3 iconic hotel chains for several nights at a time. I collected data reflecting the expenses we incurred for those stays. With the numbers and persistent negotiations over time I got room rates lowered to between 45% to 53% with a waiver of reservation cancellation fees, for every city that the company traveled to.
  • I got a discounted freight contract from 2% up to 40%. This made the CEO of the company quite happy.
  • One of my employers made constant purchases of high-priced items using 13 different vendors. I generated numbers which reflected prior expenditures and expectation of future needs for those items and used the figures to negotiate with venders. The result was a reduction from 13 vendors to 2 and an immediate discount of 10% on all items purchased with an additional 10% to 25% on select items.
  • The unemployment rate was 4 when I came on board a company. By rectifying past claims and keeping an eye on new ones, I was able to get our rating down to 3. This was a big win given the come-and-go nature of employees in that industry.
  • As an auction website administrator, I created a division-wide list of equipment for sale and placed information and photos of the items on an auction website. I worked extensively with equipment managers as well as auctioneers and developed marketing materials and flyers which I distributed to our customer base.
  • As the new safety committee secretary, I organized all past committee notes and reviewed past and current incident reports. I initiated a system of record keeping consistent with OSHA approved standards.
