I was born in rural Oklahoma and raised in a single-mother household, where poverty was a daily reality. From an early age, I learned perseverance and chose to follow Christ’s path for my life, allowing faith to guide my purpose and decisions. I became a standout student-athlete at Waxahachie High School in Texas, and went on to become the first in my family to graduate from college at Texas Tech University. After a short stint in professional football, I felt called to a greater mission.
Today, I am a husband to (recently named) Cotton Center’s Head Basketball Coach/Girls Coordinator, and a proud father of five daughters (four at home) who are UIL standouts and exceptional basketball players. I chose a career in education to serve students who, like me, are often counted out.
Now, in my 10th year in education, I am known as a program builder who embraces challenges and understands that meaningful success is born from hard work, consistency, and commitment. I strive daily to be a positive influence on my family, students, colleagues, and community. My story is one of perseverance, faith, and purpose—values I intentionally instill in everyone I have the privilege to impact.
