Compassionate clinical professional with over six years of dedicated service to the health and wellness of my patients and the long-term care community. My expertise in clinical patient care, supported by my Bachelor of Biological Sciences, has allowed me to make significant contributions to the field. I am fully committed to advocating for the unmet needs of my patients and nursing communities, as evidenced by my previous role as a recognized World Evidence-Based Health Day Ambassador, co-authorship of the publication “Virtual Aunting and Public Health Emergencies: A Novel Approach to Sharing Public Health Guidance” for Cambridge University Press, and current position as a Clinical Educator for AMI Long-Term Care RISE contracted with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, working specifically with the Department of Health Bureau of Epidemiology for emergency outbreak response assistance. Proving my strong focus on team collaboration and achieving results.

Co-author of "Virtual Aunting and Public Health Emergencies: A Novel Approach to Sharing Public Health Guidance." This concept paper will describe a grassroots community effort to provide culturally sensitive public health information to the East African community in Toronto at the beginning of the pandemic. Community members collaborated with The LAM Sisterhood to create a virtual aunt, Auntie Betty, and record voice notes with essential public health guidance in Swahili and Kinyarwanda. This method of communicating with the East African community was well-received and has shown great potential as a tool to support effective communication efforts during public health emergencies that disproportionately impact Black and equity-deserving communities.
