As a pioneering leader in criminal justice and the first female chief of the Farmersville Police Department, I am committed to breaking barriers and serving as a role model for women in law enforcement. I aim to enhance my leadership skills further and contribute to the criminal justice field by pursuing a Master of Applied Criminology at Texas A&M University.
Angel Tree: This is an annual event in which we buy Christmas gifts for needy children. It has grown so much that we have had to incorporate The Salvation Army.
Meals on Wheels: During COVID, our local Meals on Wheels Association did not always have volunteers who would be able to deliver meals. It was recommended that the meals get dropped off at our police department so that someone from our department could provide the meals so no one would go without eating. Additionally, this would allow the police department to check in on our elderly citizens to ensure they are safe and do not need anything, especially in extreme weather situations. Some elderly individuals have no family members that check on them. Our department received an award for going above and beyond. But we never intended for this type of response.
I own horses and use them as a form of relaxation. Riding puts the rider in a world outside the everyday hustle and bustle of daily stressors. The bonds that develop between a horse and rider are truly remarkable. They are such majestic animals and make the world go away for a bit.
