Summary

I have a very robust work history based mostly in the fields of health and wellness and also includes experience in hotels, restaurants, and resorts.

The reason I have so many different employers has to do mostly with the fact that I often worked seasonal positions in a resort town (South Lake Tahoe). The other reason for this is due to the fact I have moved multiple times. I want to make it very clear that I plan to stay here in Weaverville indefinitely as I grew up very near to here in Mad River (Southern Trinity) and I moved back to be closer to my mom who is getting older. Her name is Marie Block and she is a teacher at Van Duzen Elementary in Mad River where she has teaches for over 30 years. My brother, Beau Boucher, also an elementary teacher. I am hoping to pursue a career in early childhood education myself and would love an opportunity to work an entry level position with you as it would be a wonderful way to supplement the beginning of my work experience with education.

Skimmer - invasive aquatic plant removal

Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association (Water Quality Department)

  • I worked as a "skimmer" with a crew of roughly 10 to 15 workers that supports the Tahoe Keys Water Quality Department
  • The TKPOA (Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association) created the department and oversees its operations which have expanded greatly due to recent environmental disturbances, especially the introduction of noxious weeds from other bodies of water on the planet
  • The Water Quality Department handles pretty much anything that goes on in or on the Tahoe Keys Waterways and is composed of a team of scientific technicians, office managers, and boat operators
  • As a "Skimmer" I drove a boat (usually alone, but sometimes with a partner) throughout the Tahoe Keys waterways where I worked tirelessly to keep the lagoons and channels clear of aquatic plants and helped prevent he spread of invasive species with guidance from our manager and her talented technician team
  • Moreover, it was my responsibility to ensure the waterways are pristine and clear of every possible type of debris, ie: tree branches, boating equipment, various items that escaped homeowners' dock areas, etc… while paying careful attention to not harm native wildlife nor homeowner property (ie, boats and docks)
  • This requires the use an assortment of aquatic weed removal tools - My employer provided excellent training for team members interested in learning how to operate different kinds of machinery and tools
  • I received special recognition from my manager and the tech team at the end of the season: They congratulated/thanked me for inspiring over 40 homeowners to write letters or call their office-over the course of the season-to provide strong, positive feedback regarding (in general) my hard work and for my friendly, knowledgeable, and out-going disposition.
