Accomplishments

Received five Daisy Awards nominations since Methodist hospital became a Daisy Award partner. The Daisy Award is an "international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary and compassionate and skillful care given by nurses everyday". My unit also received the Team Daisy Award. I received multiple what is know at Methodist Healthcare as "WOW " cards also from patients who felt received exceptional care by me. On Methodist social media, I was recognized during Patient Experience Week for "caring like a family" for a former patient.

My unit has the DIEP flap reconstruction patients from the PRIMA group. Patients travel from all over the United States to get this procedure done at my unit. We also get patients from Mexico and Canada. I also had a patient from the Bahamas who found the PRMA group through social media. I was able to train nurses to take care of this group of patients in our unit. The nurses who take care of this group of female patients is hand picked. I was privileged to be chosen to work with this patient population, and the tracheostomy patient population as well.
