Graduation from the LAXPD Cadet Program

Joined in 2016, it was a 16 week program where we get a taste of what the LAPD recruits go through. There were posts from all around Los Angeles, I was part of the LAXPD post. On Saturdays all the posts from LA would meet up at the LAPD Recruit Training Center and the police officers would treat us as if we were an actual police recruit we would go to class, officers would teach us the things and we would get tested every other week also we would do physical training, we would do drills and exercises actual police recruits needed to complete if they wanted to become an officer. After the 16 week program we ranked up from a recruit to a cadet. After being a Cadet we were allowed to rank up and that required community service with Officers and an interview with out Youth Service Officer. Attended to weekly meetings with our Post which consisted of physical training, gaining knowledge from weekly guest speakers, and discussing future field trip plans such as going to LAX to hand out flyers and helping people with directions.
