This position did not have a fixed schedule. My primary responsibilities took place in both the morning and afternoon, feeding all the animals, which typically took about two hours to complete. After completing feeding duties, I assisted with general ranch operations, including maintenance work in barns, storage areas, and other ranch infrastructure as needed. I also cleaned and maintained stables, helped build and repair fences, assisted with vaccinating animals, and performed general cleaning tasks throughout the ranch.
Although the business name is “Bakery,” it is not strictly a bakery. It is a multi-service retail store that includes a paletería, butcher shop, and taquería. My role involved working in multiple areas of the store. I primarily stocked and organized merchandise. On some days, I worked as a cashier in the paletería and assisted customers with their orders. I also helped in the butcher shop by organizing and displaying different types of meat in the display cases.
This position involved working from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Daily tasks included traveling to the fields where crops such as strawberries and corn were grown. In the strawberry fields, responsibilities included cleaning furrows, harvesting strawberries, trimming runners, and applying disinfectant solutions using backpack sprayers to prevent pests. In the corn fields, duties focused primarily on applying fertilizer.
I primarily worked as a cashier in a small grocery store. During slower periods, I was responsible for cleaning the store and restocking shelves to ensure products were well organized and fully stocked. This included replenishing sodas, water, and other beverages in refrigeration units. Additionally, I worked as a delivery assistant, distributing beverages in bulk to small communities in the surrounding areas.
