CWI Experience Summary

  • Monitor welding processes such as FCAW. SMAW, GTAW, SAW, GMAW, PGMAW, Mechanized PGMAW, Mechanized GTAW manually or with data logger (ALX system) assuring they are performed in accordance with qualified procedures.
  • Visually inspect welds in accordance to relevant code, and WPS.
  • Assure the proper control and handling of welding consumables
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints, Fabrication drawings, ISO’s, P&ID’s.
  • Review approved drawings to locate welds, generate weld maps and determine extent of NDE testing per company and client specifications.
  • Oversee non destructive and mechanical testing.
  • Generate detailed material maps to identify each piece of material with a heat number, drawing number, and item number to ensure 100% traceability, and verify compliance of base metals with applicable drawings specifications.

  • Test and Qualify Welders
  • Gather inspection data for PQR’s to develop job specific WPS
  • Witness and accept or reject hydrostatic testing per client approved hydrostatic procedure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel. Power Point).
  • Assist in training and mentoring of other inspectors.
  • Verify Fit up preparation of weldments meets specified requirements in relevant WPS.
  • Perform final dimensional checks on erected components and generate detailed as-builts for final documentation.
  • Maintain proper documentation on structural and piping components to later be used in the development of project data book. (Ex. MTR’s , Specifications, Procedures, NDE Reports, Personnel Certifications, Equipment Calibration Certificates, Equipment Manuals, System Integrated Test Reports, Factory Acceptance Reports, Hydrostatic Testing Reports.)

Coating Experience Summary

  • Have experience inspecting coating in land lay pipelines, subsea pipelines, structural steel, new construction, compressor stations and subsea structures. Industrial 3 layer coat system, 3LPP, 5LPP, FBE, GSPU, CMPP. IMPP.
  • Verification of environmental readings.
  • Perform Blotter testing to ensure no traces of moisture or oil are present in the airstream.
  • Perform abrasive conductivity testing.
  • Witness salt testing to verify levels are in compliance with projects ITP.
  • Performed inspection to surface preparation and ensured standard desired was achieved.
  • On 3 coat system monitor of mixing to ensure correct ratios we performed ensuring working pot life was not exceeded. After surface preparation was verified and standard met, we witnessed applications of primer coating, intermediate coat and finish coat ensuring wet film thickness was performed.
  • Performed visual inspection of each coat to ensure product was free of coating defects and also dry film thickness readings for each coat were as per project specification.
  • Ensured each coat met recommended coat windows as per manufacturer data.
  • Perform final visual and holiday detection testing. Report and verify any holidays or damage to piping or structure and repair areas with approved method.
