  • Completed new intakes for patients using Vivitrol, Suboxone, and Methadone. This involved preparing their documentation, which included running a PDMP and labs before putting the patient on an OTP, as well as performing a quick cup UA, an EKG, a COWS assessment, and a vital sign check.
  • Dispensed daily methadone prescriptions that adhere to strict regulations. Pre-poured methadone for patients who qualified for take-home orders during a phase. Verified that the clients were adhering to the guidelines for a controlled medicine, which included picking up their take-homes in a lock box, attending group sessions, and maintaining clean UAs.
  • Completed orders for titration, induction, dose increases, and decreases based on the requirements of the client.
  • Used critical thinking abilities to prioritize nursing interventions depending on the patients' acuity levels and specific requirements. Safely administered medications in accordance with established protocols and closely monitored for any side effects or adverse reactions that needed intervention.

It is my responsibility to maintain a record of the bulk bottle summary, DEA reconciliation, inventory bulk reconciliation, patients scheduled for the current day and the following day, as well as patients who missed their appointments and those who are not scheduled (for billing purposes). Additionally, I am accountable for keeping an updated record of prescriptions on file for each patient.

  • Scheduled 30-day injections of Vivitrol, charting, education about the shot, its side effects, and when to visit the hospital. They also received a dog tag or bracelet identifying them as Vivitrol users, which they should wear to alert others to their health condition.
