At the time I received the Patient first award I was working as a Security Officer and while on patrol exiting out of Joe DiMaggio main entrance a mother in her daughter had just gotten discharge and the young girl who had been the patient started to feel lite headed and experience a seizure, so I just jump in to help the mother because she didn't know what to do. From my training I radio to the front desk security to call a blue alert to get the young girl medical assisted. Once the young lady was on the ground having the seizure I took my jacket off to alleviate some pain cause from her head movement on the ground and I stay with them keeping the mom calm until all the medical staff arrived to take her back up to a room.
For the Boys & Girls Club Award during the summer times I would help out at various parks to assist with the kids being a Role Model for some of the kids field trips Playing a role of a big brother. Giving life lesson speeches and just positive words of encouragement moving forward with their lives.
