In that time frame, we found that Mary was extremely well organized, evaluated what needed to be done and had the initiative to resolve the problems, and was a reliable employee with excellent communication skills. We relied on her heavily, Mary was an extremely well organized. One of the most difficult areas to maintain in the library are Juvenile picture books. They are thin, have a variety of sizes, and there are many of them. Mary made sure that the books in this section were organized and it became much easier to locate titles once she began managing this area. She also had great initiative. Mary has a strong work ethic and likes to stay busy. She was always looking for jobs to do. When she identified something that needed.to be done, she would confer with a full-time supervisor and propose a plan 011 how to complete the task. This ability helped us to improve our efficiency in services to our patrons. Finally, Mary was a very reliable worker. She always reported for work on time and with a positive attitude. If she could not make a shift, she communicated that information as fllr in advance as possible. Since she was a non-traditional student, this set an example for other work study students. I would highly recommend Mary Burton for any position within an organization. Her organizational skills, initiative, reliability, and communication skills make her an outstanding employee.
