CLUBS

I participated in the Floyd Mentor Program here at Coastal Carolina University. Through this program I was able to mentor and guide a 7 year old boy who had been experiencing issues at home. Every Wednesday I would go to Myrtle Beach Elementary School and we would work on reading, spelling, writing, communication skills as well as social. Using different activities we were able to cover these topics in the form of fun games or worksheets. This program allowed me to see how valuable a mentor is for a child. Over the course of the semester I saw his personality blossom and I was able to see how intelligent, kind and determined he is when given the tools to be so.
