  • Investigate abuse and neglect in foster care system and carry caseload of approximately six cases at any given time.
  • Interview children and caregivers, perform informal needs assessments, and assess danger indicators to determine children's level of danger. Coordinate with administration or legal guardians to build safety plan and determine best course of action to achieve safe outcome for each child.
  • Regularly review medical documentation, child service plans (child’s behavior, medical history, family history, history with CPS, etc.), and assess victim’s outcry. Coordinate with medical physicians and therapists to understand child’s diagnosis and health history. Work with caretakers and people responsible for children’s care to assess how children are properly taken care of; in some cases, conduct extensive interviews to document incidents. Also, interview collaterals (roommates, additional witnesses, etc.).
  • Meticulously document collected data and maintain current status on up-to-date records of cases.
  • Currently mentoring new hire, and play active role in team development and efforts to improve workplace.
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement; provide information needed for them to perform their investigation. Also, work collaboratively with forensic interviewers at child advocacy centers.

  • Co-taught preschool (transition kindergarten; 5-6 years old) at school and after-care program with Montessori-inspired elements. Developed age-appropriate curriculum (sensory, math, science experiments, and writing and spelling activities) alongside more experienced teacher under Director’s supervision during school year, and developed summer curriculum to teach ages four to six years old. Subbed in to toddler and four and five-year-old classes to assist teaching as needed.
  • Managed after-school program (approximately six staff and 40-50 children). Coordinated activities and provided resources for teachers, managed staff shortages, and managed staff and child transition from school to after-care. Supported teacher’s efforts to supervise and care for students.
  • Served as main contact for children to parents (passed on information about student’s behavior, incidents that occurred, and answer parent questions). Served families by leading parent-teacher conferences and ad-hoc parent meetings.
  • In charge of closing school each day, and taking tuition payment from parents. Also oversaw housekeeping.
