- Triage patients based on presentation, taking into account their physical, psychological, and social needs, so as to effectively allocate medical resources
- Support patients and their loved ones in times of need with clear and empathetic communication
- Educate patients and caregivers on disease processes including prognosis, treatment options, and appropriate support resources
- Train new nursing staff in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols - Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to quickly assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment while managing rapidly changing conditions
- Perform comprehensive age-specific assessments
- Administer medications via IV, intramuscular injection, and orally and monitored responses
- Ensure adequate documentation utilizing Epic Systems software
