SIOP based strategies with differentiation were utilized to increase student EL acquisition. Presented professional development to staff incorporating data and best SIOP interventions per individual student. Also, annually helped coordinate, and administer WIDA.
Developed family events to inform our school community of the EL Program, encouraging their support.
Worked in summer school programs, supporting faculty to best engage EL learners, based on data.
Designed and implemented highly successful Virtual Summer Programs in both enrichment, and in homework comprehension and completion for virtual EL students.
Received on- going professional development in diversity, and implicit bias training.
Taught students in school community by individually creating learning plan of action. Establishing strong rapport with students, their families, and entire school community. Encouraging powerful learning community, with research- based differentiation, creating harmonious environment. Decisions based on data analysis, and research- based interventions. Assisted students in developing self- esteem and life skills by fostering healthy conflict resolution strategies, meta -cognition, and communication skills. Students tested well in Reading based on standardized tests yearly.
