Since retirement, I have worked a service desk at the Downtown Y for 4 years and have been a Medical Examiner Investigator since 2015.

Contacted families and next of kin of deceased to inform them of deaths and gather further information for reports and documents. Performed examinations on bodies and other pieces of evidence to determine causes and manners of death. Recorded positions and conditions of bodies to track evidence. Interviewed witnesses at death scenes to obtain collateral information to determine manner of death. Completed investigative reports to be used for court and filling in death certificates. Worked with law enforcement, hospital staff, dispatch centers, fire departments to complete investigations.

Accomplishments

Worked as an investigator in conjunction with numerous Federal, County, and Municipal Departments to enforce controlled substance and weapon violations while assigned to the Tri-County Metro Narcotics Squad. This assignment involved undercover and surveillance work. Working closely with various Prosecutor's Offices was essential to the success of this unit. Was a Field Training Officer from 1991-1994 and responsible for training new officers. This involved doing training that involved scenarios and quizzes, monitoring and documenting the recruit's performance.  Promoted to Sergeant in 1994. Supervisor in the Special Operations Section. This entailed undercover, surveillance, and also reviewing reports and coordinating raids and arrests. ​
