I worked with students  by either grouping and then regrouping depending upon testing results,  rewriting-assignments and student's interest of topics.  I emphasized daily reading and journal writing.  Students choice their own reading books which had to be logged in their own personal writing journals,  I emphasized daily writing.  A variety  of topics were chosen either by the student or myself.  Students had the right to choose their own topics of interest.   I included Social Studies assignments with reading and writing..  Promoted and awarded students for reading and writing assignments.   I also emphasized certain grammer assignments in their writing journals that I would be assessing for understanding.
