Summary

I got a spark for welding summer after sophomore year. I wanted a career I will have to work hard for, so I have reason to be proud of myself and one day look back on how far I have come. I felt this could be a career where I can make myself respected and work for my way up in the industry. I also wish to turn Welding and Fabrication into my own art form. If I have already come this far with welding, that's every reason to keep pushing more everyday. I am a Precision-driven Welder and Fabricator known for making sure work is efficient and done in a timely manner. I have skills in Mig, Flux Core, Oxy-Acetylene welding, plasma cutting and oxy-acetylene torch cutting. I can use power tools for grinding, cutting, drilling, and rollers. I can set up my machines just right and somewhat fix them. I am a fast learner and always open to learning new things and receiving feed back.

Pittsburgh, PA
09.2022 - 05.2024

I attended parkway as my education not a job, my teacher treated like a job/real shop and taught us lots of valuable information. We worked on things such as...

  • Fabricated metal components using welding techniques such as MIG, Stick, Flux Core, and Oxy-Acetylene welding.
  • Repaired broken or cracked parts by welding them back together.
  • Inspected welds for quality assurance purposes to ensure adherence to standards through bend tests.
  • Cut materials with plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches or mechanical shears according to specifications.
  • Set up and operated rollers, presses, brakes, drills, punch press machines to shape metal pieces prior to welding.
  • Performed regular housekeeping duties such as cleaning tools and equipment after use.
  • Participated in team meetings to discuss best practices for fabrication processes.
  • Checked cut length frequently for deviation in cut length specs.
  • Maintained clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and productivity.
  • Prepared workpiece edges by grinding, cutting, buffing or bending to verify snug fit.
  • Welded fabrication materials, continuously checking for safety and quality.
  • Adjusted weld machines to correct settings for precision and waste reduction.
  • Positioned and clamped workpieces together and properly assembled in jigs and fixtures.
  • Produced work using appropriate welding techniques, metallurgy knowledge and engineering requirements.
  • Safely ignited torches and monitored surroundings to proactively identify hazards.
  • Cut, contoured and beveled metal and structural shapes to achieve accurate dimensions.
  • Aligned and clamped workpieces using rules, squares or hand tools.
  • Welded components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Determined equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques.
  • Measured workpieces with straightedges or templates to conform with specifications.
  • Selected and installed torches, filler rods and flux according to welding chart specifications.
  • Prepared material surfaces for welding by removing scale, rust or other foreign matter.
  • Melted and applied solder along adjoining edges of workpieces to solder joints.
  • Recognized, set up, and operated shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
  • Minimal blueprint reading and creating
  • Interpret welding symbol information
