Responsible for coordination of pipe and cable support needs
between Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Structural.
Determine which supports require review by Structural
Engineering per the guidelines. Act as liaison between all
disciplines to ensure support needs are met. Optimize quality,
quantity, and location of supports. Ensure Wood Standards as
outlined in this document are adhered to and to combine any
additional project specific details and steel shapes/sizes into
standard Wood Details where applicable.

Civil/Structural Designer

Responsible for the 3D design and drawings of structural
access platforms, equipment skids and supports for installation
offshore. Working in conjunction with piping, equipment,
engineering, and installation for a seamless design to meet the
client’s requirements.

As a Sr Structural Designer I am responsible for structural designs, modeling, drawings, PDMS reports and supporting engineering activities using PDMS or AutoCAD on TLP’s, Semi’s and FPSO projects. As a designer/lead, my project involvement ranges from R&D, proposal, FEED, execution, construction, installation and brownfield work. Experienced as a Design Lead on several successful PDMS projects with budgets of 3000+ hours. I have trained designers using PDMS Design and Draft as well as teach PDMS Draft training classes, and am known as the go-to resource for PDMS Design and Draft within the company. Other roles include taking an active role as Structural Topsides Technical Expert in structural CAD department standards and guidelines along with assisting PDMS Administration in various tasks

Key Roles:

• Sr Designer/Checker: I have been a designer or lead designer on FPSO’s, SEMI’s, and TLP’s, primarily designing structural topsides. Design work has also included FPSO hull, SEMI hull, TLP hull, tension leg mooring, spread mooring, accommodations, helidecks, turrets, moored buoys, MPS, MES, P&ID’s, Vessel Integration, R&D and more
• Design Lead: Being successful on several PDMS and AutoCAD projects with budgets of 3000+ hours. Responsibilities include developing the CTR hours, manpower forecast, and deliverables, as well as executing and tracking projects.
• Brownfield: Working with clients and engineering to discover solutions and to execute deliverables for SBM’s fleet of FPSO’s. Using the tools of AutoCAD, PDMS and scan data to facilitate ideas, solutions and deliverables.
• Structural Topsides Technical Expert (TE): Serving as the SBM Houston’s office TE for 8 years, implementing a Work-as-One among our global offices. Sharing best practices between offices for PDMS, and AutoCAD. Meeting bi-monthly to share and learn, improve our productivity and quality.
• PDMS and AutoCAD Admin: To assist admin by creating structural specs using ERM, programming in PML, coordinate development of structural tools and training of designers in the use of Design and Draft. Setting up, testing, and rolling out of new software and tools for AutoCAD, PDMS (Outfitting) and E3D
• Bulk Material Management: AVEVA ERM used to manage structural specs and to output the PDMS model data to ERM for engineering to track bulk material. I also use data extracted from PDMS and implemented the use of Excel PivotTables to generate engineering weight and material reports.
• International Assignments: I have worked in many countries with diverse cultural backgrounds. Locations have included Monaco, Amsterdam, Bangalore, and Kuala Lumpur, duration of work assignments range from 1 wk to 4 months.
• Gulf of Mexico Offshore: Multiple site surveys for SEMI topsides projects and a laser scan survey of a FPSO for a new large module installation

• Responsible for creating and revising AutoCAD drawings of offshore structures, chemical refineries, and sub-sea pipelines
• Other skills include 3D Structural modeling, using StruCAD interfaced with PDMS
• Worked on site of a local fabrication yard and was part of the companies Special Projects group

• Responsible for creating and revising AutoCAD drawings of offshore structures
