Summary

Skilled Heat Exchanger Technician from DraCool-USA, adept in preventative maintenance and relationship building, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Leveraging diagnostic testing and critical thinking, I excel in high-pressure environments, ensuring safety and project success. My expertise in equipment repair and customer interaction has consistently driven positive outcomes. My peers often say im borderline obsessed with attention to detail and building new relationships with customers. As we are a smaller business, success of the company as a whole is reliant on the ground level people to build relationships and promote a positive image of the company while maintaining a very high standard of work. There are no substitute for hard work and attention to detail. Ownership is at the forefront of my philosophy at work, in turn making it easier to grow as a company and an individual if i take ownership of things on-site, and during our process of refurbishment at our shop.

Work History

Heat Exchanger Technician

DraCool-USA
Decatur, IL
08.2023 - Current
  • There is never a typical day here at DraCool-USA. I go around the country to various locations and build relationships with customers of all types in the industry. My job includes, but is not limited to, servicing plate heat exchangers at the customers' on-site locations, bringing back their plate packs to my shop for refurbishment, and often doing a CIP (Clean in Place) process at the customers' on-site locations in the event that they are unable to shut down their processes.
  • The following is my SOP for on-site jobs.
  • Contact the customer, coordinate essential safety requirements with my team, and adhere to the customer's safety standards. Next, we do a walk down to the location of the heat exchanger so I can then verify all valves are properly closed, and I can give the customer a rundown of the day's activities. From there, my crew and I service the heat exchanger via pump and cylinders to ensure we minimize workload and maximize effectiveness. As these heat exchangers are under thousands of pounds of PSI, safety is my number one priority. We deinstall the plate pack, install the refurbished plate pack, and provide an on-site hydro test to ensure the customer is getting a proper flow of product. Doing this ensures the customer has zero net loss of profit on the product they are running. Lastly, my crew and I operate fork trucks, lifts, and sometimes chain hoists to ensure proper fitting of pipes, and to safely load old plates to be taken back for refurbishment.

  • I get up at 3 oclock in the morning to commute to the YMCA to get a morning workout in and go over my day's plan.
  • I arrive home from work and spend most of my time reading about, and or studying leadership. I am extremely passionate about leadership and I think it is one of the most misunderstood roles in any organization. Ownership first. If something goes array, its my fault. Its so much easier to take ownership and formulate a plan of action to ensure success, rather than point fingers. Pointing fingers makes my subordinates and bosses trust me less therefore I strive to never do such things.
