
During my tenure with the Tyler Police Department, I was recognized as Employee of the Month on two occasions. Academically, I earned placement on the Dean’s List in recognition of my outstanding performance in college. While employed with Cherokee County, I successfully graduated from the Police Academy and obtained my Basic Peace Officer License.
Enforced laws, conducted patrol and investigations, responded to calls for service, completed reports, made arrests, and ensured public safety within the county.
Served as a Public Service Officer for the Tyler Police Department, performing a wide range of administrative and field support duties. Responsibilities included staffing the front desk; processing open records requests; releasing crash and police reports; assisting the public with directions, information, and complaint procedures; preparing written reports for criminal and non-criminal incidents; and collecting public and criminal fingerprints.
Conducted patrol functions in a Public Service Officer vehicle, including tagging abandoned vehicles, assisting with funeral escorts, enforcing parking violations, managing traffic flow, assisting at vehicle crash scenes, and directing traffic. Transported evidence to the police department, the Texas Department of Public Safety laboratories, and external laboratories in Dallas; transported Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) kits to and from medical facilities; and performed additional duties as assigned to support patrol operations and sworn personnel.
Transported and maintained patrol vehicles; conducted routine building, vehicle, and property inspections; performed departmental facility and grounds maintenance; and provided operational and administrative support to the Tyler Police Department to ensure buildings, fencing, lighting, vehicles, and equipment were maintained in optimal condition.
Maintained the care, custody, and control of inmates; enforced facility rules; conducted security checks and inmate supervision; completed required documentation; and responded to incidents and emergencies.
Performed pressure washing of equipment; loaded and unloaded machinery; maintained shop cleanliness and facilities; operated lawn mowers for grounds maintenance; applied chemical treatments along fence lines; filled feeders for exotic animals; conducted daily property inspections to monitor animal welfare and fence integrity; and completed additional tasks as required.
Responsible for loading and unloading various types of feed; performing warehouse maintenance; organizing inventory and restocking shelves; loading rented equipment; and operating a front-end loader to move/load rock and dirt.
