Project Experience

Air Engine Project : Machine Tools Lab

  • Practiced manual machining, using lathe and CNC mill to create individual parts for an rudimentary air piston engine.
  • Applied correct GD&T and machinist techniques to efficiently and precisely machine and assemble all parts.

Number Block Project : Engineering Communication and Tolerancing

  • Using SOLIDWORKS model and dimension a 1:1 Number Block with correct GD&T
  • 3D Print a first rendition using Autodesk Fusion 360, then use CNC Machining Software to mill a 1:1 model from solid aluminum. Create proper dimensioned drawings in SOLIDWORKS with GD&T

2 Stroke Engine : Manufacturing Processes

  • Fully model and design a 2 Stroke 150 CC engine from a dirt bike, present a full BOM analyzing costs of production and prototype development.
  • Using SOLIDWORKS model individual parts 1:1 out of their respective materials, then assemble and create an exploded view drawing to be presented.
