Reinventing the model of a traditional "film school," the University of Texas at Austin is one of the few top-ranking U.S. media programs to offer degrees in both practical and theoretical areas —i.e., in both media production and media studies—and incorporate courses in both the humanities and social sciences, preparing our students to succeed in a wide range of careers—in industry, the arts, higher education, and public policy.
Through their comprehensive curriculum which mixes tried-and-true film school fundamentals with mastery of state-of-the-art technology, students gain a foundational understanding of media and develop the skills necessary to launch a career through hands-on practice.
Built through a unique partnership between ASU and The National WWII Museum (NWWM) in New Orleans. Through advanced interdisciplinary study of World War II, students explore the global nature of World War II, a conflict that fundamentally reshaped the political and cultural landscape of our planet. Students examine the causes and impact of the war, the global nature of the conflict, the evolution of governance and political systems, and human responses to conflict, violence and genocide.
