Mateo Monteiro

I am a motivated and detail-oriented UCSC student in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology with a strong passion for understanding and preserving marine ecosystems. I am proficient in conducting scientific research and data analysis, with a focus on marine biodiversity and conservation, as well as biogeochemical cycles affecting the world's oceans. Interdisciplinary studies interest me, and I am considering minors in either Geology or Physics to broaden my understanding of Earth's processes and enhance my analytical skills. Demonstrates strong communication and teamwork abilities through collaboration with peers and participation in extracurricular activities. Eager to apply knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to marine science research and conservation efforts. Wishes to pursue a career in conservation to find creative solutions to problems plaguing our environment.
