Summary

I am a biologist whose main field of interest is the study of insects, more specifically in the area of medical entomology. Being native to Brazil and experiencing firsthand the effects of arthropod-borne diseases on friends and family, I have decided to pursue a career studying mosquitoes to not only learn more about their behaviors and systematics, but to utilize my knowledge into disease control and prevention. After working at UNT in the Benthic Macroinvertebrates Lab and taking courses related to insect physiology and taxonomy I became confident that this was the path I wanted to follow.
