Laboratory Coursework

Senior Research, Writing Intensive coursework (June 2022 - August 2022) 

- Research involved utilizing HPLC, Chromatography. Spectrometry, DuoSet ELISA plates, microscopy, UV sanitation, pipetting, and other methods of analysis in order to test the effects of Crotalus scutulatus scutulatus (C.s.s) crude venom on human proteins. Such as: IL-1β / IL-1F2 and Human MMP9. This research was conducted in order to further the research into the creation of antivenoms for C.s.s victims.


Chemical Seminar (August 2020 - December 2020) 

- Research involved utilizing online and physical literature in order to propose and defend a new method of drug delivery based on hydrogels as a less invasive form of patient treatment.


Bacteriology research (August 2019 - December 2019) 

- Research involved utilizing aseptic techniques, fractional distillation, making agar plates, harvesting and growing bacteria from collected soil samples from two different sources in order to test and compare bacterial growth and the antibiotic resistance of colonies grown. All parameters and guidelines for this experiment were proposed to and approved by Dr. Laughlin as part of my individual course research



Volunteer Work

  • Assisted in student body activity events held by the student body government throughout my time at TAMUK alongside Sigma Chi. These events included: Derby days, Fall and Spring flings, Women inclusivity events, volleyball sporting events, study halls, Easter egg hunts, campus wide events and more.
