Summary

Police Officer with over 18 years of service, starting with community and response policing, becoming a senior Police Constable and then successful in becoming an area car driver in the busy City of Southampton, UK. This meant that I led from the front, expected to be first on scene at any incidents of serious violence or requiring a critical incident response and take control on the ground. Making fast paced decisions around creating scenes and directing officers as they arrived on scene. Within this role I also took the role of acting sergeant on an ad hoc basis when required leading a team of more than 30 officers across the city.

Following this I was successful in passing selection for the specialist post of armed response officer, responding to fast paced spontaneous or planned incidents which required an armed response in the UK. This has furthered my ability to work within high pressure and time critical environments meaning I have the ability to stay calm and take decisive action where required.

Within these posts I have also had to develop my ability to deal with and communicate with people from broad spectrums of society, from members of the public, prosecution and defense lawyers, as well as various government agencies.

Previous to joining the police, following secondary education I successfully completed a higher education obtaining a GNVQ in business and finance prior to attending Plymouth University to study psychology.

After this I worked as a civil engineer for three years.
