Central American Law Enforcement Exchange (CALEE)Central American Law Enforcement Exchange (CALEE)

• CALEE is a joint FBI and State Department initiative which creates opportunities for representatives from U.S. and Central Americal law enforcement agencies to take part in interactive, hands-on, custom designed exchange program. CALEE was developed to expose participants to various law enforcement methods focusing on prevention and intervention, officer safety, tactical operations, sophisticated investigative techniques, source recruitment and operation and case management. I completed a total of 120 training hours during participation in CALEE Exchange Class 2 from October 12th until October 29th, 2009.

Violent Crime Initiative (VCI)Violent Crime Initiative (VCI)

• Tasked with the design and implementation of the Greensboro Police Department Violent Crime Initiative (VCI) from January 2018 thru December 2018. This plan was derived and based largely in part to city-wide statistical data which revealed overall violent crime to be increasing at an alarming rate, specifically those offenses which could be quantified as ‘gang involved’ or those in which a nexus could be proven as it relates to specific criminal patterns and trends that gangs commonly engage in.
  
  Preliminary steps toward this plan were aimed at identifying specific crime tendencies in the community committed by gangs and repeat violent offenders alike, and utilizing this data toward a more informed law enforcement response and appropriate resource allocation. In applying the aforementioned principles, we were hopeful the VCI would enable the identification of active violent offenders, gun crime hotspots and gun crime trends.
  
  A year-end review of the program's effectiveness revealed a 31% decrease in violent crime labeled as gang-involved from the previous year.
