  • During the spring and summer the focus was to mow grass, trim hedges and edging for residential and commercial properties. Upon completion all excess shrubs were collected, loaded and properly discarded. During the winter months I loaded salt, shoveled snow either by hand or other various equipment including but not limited to a snow plow truck. As with the landscaping aspect we serviced several residential and commercial properties. I continued working for Mr. Black part time even after obtaining full time employment elsewhere.

  • Initially hired in packaging and promoted within 90 days. As the head of icing I was responsible for checking the quality of the various iced cookies which required full knowledge of the machinery used. Responsible for maintaining a quality control log for every batch which was submitted upon batch completion. This included weight, taste, texture, density and color of frosting. Kept daily records of various ingredients and rotation of stock. In order to keep a clean and steady flow of quality product I learned how to break down and rebuild the industrial frosting machinery. This position was an extremely fast paced and required standing, stooping, bending and lifting over 50 pounds for ten hour shifts. This position also required me to be hyper aware of my surroundings. It was not unusual to process 515 cookies per minute. Several times I was required to train new factory hires. If requested I would also assist other stations if needed. Unfortunately, iBake closed their Rimersburg facility.

  • Production consisted of but was not limited to crates for appliance shipping, pallets and building trusses. and housing. During employment I gained many useful skills working with various carpentry tools. Typical shifts required 10-12 hours per days and frequently were required to work Saturday as well. On average I worked 50-60 standing hours weekly. The majority of production required use of various air power tools. Knowledge was gained in basic carpentry, reading schematics and measurements. I began as a novice carpenter and quickly excelled to proficient carpenter.
