Supervisory Controls
Supervisor provides general instructions, standard procedures, overall priorities, and policies. Relies on the work leaders and employees to manage operations and ensure sufficient production quality and quantity. Work is reviewed for efficiency and economical accomplishment within established priorities and controls.
Major Duties
Branch Leadership:
Supervises the Component and Airframes Cleaning Branch, across 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift within the Directorate of Manufacturing Process and Production. Responsible for planning, operations, and administrative oversight.
Planning
- Organizes daily, weekly, and monthly use of workforce, equipment, facilities, and materials.
- Establishes deadlines, priorities, and workflow sequences aligned with general schedules and operational policies.
- Determines staffing needs by series and grade based on certifications, experience, materials, and available equipment.
- Assesses concurrent tasks that can be completed by available personnel and equipment.
Work Direction
- Provides general instructions and ensures adherence to priorities: Safety, Quality, then Quantity.
- Assigns tasks and offers technical assistance and training.
- Monitors productivity and cost efficiency; investigates root causes of inefficiencies and implements corrective actions per engineering standards.
- Documents progressive memorandums and counseling sessions to improve performance, following federal labor laws, EEO guidelines, Army regulations, and labor agreements with AFGE Local 2142.
Safety & Technical Compliance
- Ensures compliance with OSHA, Army, CFR, Texas Environmental Quality, and Industrial Hygiene guidelines.
- Maintains production schedules by coordinating with Production Management and Control teams.
- Oversees compliance with technical instructions, including Army pamphlets, DoD regulations, USAF Technical Orders, Navy NAVAIR, OEM guidance, Army DMWRs, and engineering-issued MECs and MEOs.
- Coordinates with Logistics, Engineering, and QA to issue temporary guidance when standard technical data is insufficient.
Administration
- Oversees leave schedules, training plans, and performance appraisals.
- Reviews and updates position descriptions.
- Conducts hiring interviews and recommends promotions or transfers.
- Promotes employee involvement in cost-reduction and process improvement initiatives.
- Manages property custody, usage, and recordkeeping; enforces safety and housekeeping standards.

Process Line Equipment Operator Leader

Supervisory Controls
Provides general instructions, standard procedures, overall priorities, and policies to subordinate employees. Relay daily work requirement to other employees. Manage work floor operations and ensure sufficient production exists report any deficiencies to Supervisor.Major Duties
Branch Leadership:
Assumes the supervisory role when supervisor is not present. Responsible for assuring the execution of daily, operations passed down from the supervisor. Works on the Process line as a WL-5401-09 Process Line Equipment Operator, WG-5423-07 Sandblaster, and WG-7009-Equipment Cleaner as needed to achieve daily production in shop.
Planning
- Organizes daily, weekly, and monthly use of workforce, equipment, facilities, and materials. Daily assure that employees in the shop follow all technical data and answer question or assist employees when they need help navigating the system.
Timekeeping
-As the role of timekeeper, assure all time in entered weekly and enter time from employees who may have technical issues or are on excused absence. Time keeping issues where time has not been entered, or rolled over in the system require manual time cards and corrections made in ESS and CADO in LMP.

Hazardous Waste Disposal
-Monitors Haz-Waste Satellites i.e.: Plastic Media Dust and Waste Material, Glass Bead Media Dust, Aluminum Oxide Dust, Conversion Coating Waste ETCP / Alodine, Oily Debris, Paint Chips, and Oily Sludge, in shop and when full Contact
- Oversees compliance with technical instructions, including Army pamphlets, DoD regulations, USAF Technical Orders, Navy NAVAIR, OEM guidance Army DMWRs, and engineering-issued MECs and MEOs.
- Electronically submits parts onto the Call Board for quality inspections of Critical Parts and Processes.
- Coordinates with Logistics, Engineering, and QA to issue temporary guidance when standard technical data is insufficient.
Duties of a Process Line Equipment Operator (Leader)
-Operate The Army's first Computer driven Laser guided Automated Chemical Process Line. This task includes programming the set points, drop points, hang time, soak time and travel routes between chemical vats. parts are cleaning with Heated Pressure washers and Plant Supplied Steam wands
Cleaning processes by line.
100 Line- Hot Section parts, Engines, Chemicals: Turco Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Permanganate, Hot rinse.
300/400 Line- Steam and Degrease Line, Cadmium Coating Removal Process, Titanium Cleaning. Chemical: Turco, Ammonium Nitrate, Hot Rinse
500 Line - Steam and Degrease Line, Ultrasonic Cleaning, and Cosmoline Removal Process. Chemical- Heat Transfer Oil, Sonar Ultrasonic Cleaner.
Process Line Equipment Operators must be able to maintain a Plastic Media Blast Certification, Roll Lift Operator License, Overhead Hoist and Crane Training, Haz-Mat Handling Certification, Respirator Fit Tested.
Optional Plastic Media Blast related training available: Fall Protection Trained, and Confined Space trained, entrant as a minimum, but can Be Confined Space Supervisor Permit Issuer trained.

Responsible for assuring the execution of daily, operations passed down from the supervisor. Works on the Process line assisting the Process Line Equipment Operator. Fulfills the duties of WG-5423-07 Sandblaster, and WG-7009-Equipment Cleaner as needed to achieve daily production in shop.
Timekeeping
-Responsible for daily entering time as work is completed in an accurate and timely manner taking care to not overcharge assets or programs. Place leave into the system as soon as it is requested and approved.

- Employee is provided daily production requirement from Supervisor / Work Leader. Execute general instructions and ensure adherence to priorities: Safety, Quality, then Quantity.

Clean out Blown down inside of Cabinets and Clean windows. walk in Blast booths should have the floors blown down to recirculate media or Floor need to be Vacuumed is there is no Media Reclaim System instated in the Walk In Booth.

Duties of a Sandblaster
Sandblasters must maintain the following certifications renewed yearly:
Plastic Media Blast Certification 3 different levels:
Level 2 Type 5 and 7 Plastic Media, Glass Bead Media, and Aluminum, Oxide Media in Glove Box. Work on small Aircraft Components, Engines Transmissions and other Assemble components.
Level 3 Type 5 and 8 Plastic media Walk In Blaster for Airframe of Helicopters, and Larger Aircraft Components, and Aircraft Skins, Floor Boards and Tail Rotor Blades. Composites, Aluminum, and Magnesium Only
Level 4 Type 7 and 8 Media. Composites in Walk in Blaster, Composite Skins and Main Rotor Blades. Composites parts only.
Certifications Overhead Hoist and Crane Training, Respirator Fit Tested, Fall Protection Trained, and Confined Space trained.
