LPN duties typically included, but were not limited to: Medication administration, assessment of pain, vital signs and blood glucose, education of patients and families regarding chronic and acute conditions and the plan of care, head-to-toe and focused nursing assessments, communication of changes in condition to healthcare providers, documentation and implementation of orders, oversight of CNA duties.

Three years as a staff LPN at this facility, with duties as above. I regularly worked on all units in facility, which included LTC, rehab, memory care and behavioral health units. This time period included the chaotic first year of the covid-19 pandemic, during which healthcare staff and facilities grappled with issues such as PPE shortages, increased staff shortages and increased patient acuity, while research of the virus and its treatment were in their infancy, prior to development and distribution of a vaccine.
