I served in the United States Coast Guard from February 2015 through November 2019 when I received my Honorable Discharge. During this time I was a part time student at Penn State until Spring 2020 when I transferred to The Ohio State University as a full time student pursuing a B.S. in Biology in the university's pre-health program.

Screens and communicates with families on eligibility, processes, and procedures related to the study.
Works to process families through multiple aspects of the study including: EEGs, fMRIs, and several psychological screening tests.
Leads the Student Veteran run organization consisting of over 2000 military connected students and family.
Created the personnel and organization infrastructure that resulting in the revival of the student veteran community on campus.
Collaborated with several dozen university, offices, businesses, non-profits, and political offices in order to provide student veterans with resources and to ensure them the highest possibility for success on campus.
Led the organization to a second place finish out of 1,600 universities for Student Veterans of America Chapter of the Year (2023).
Screens and communicates with participants regarding study eligibility, study procedures, and any other needs or concerns.
Assists participants through procedures including: fMRI, basic mindfulness practices, and other study procedures.
Trains incoming research contributors to become part of and work in the lab.
Along with one other Independent Duty Medical Technician (health care provider who practices independently under the license of a physician who is located elsewhere), oversaw a patient area of responsibility from Cleveland, OH through Mid-State NY, consisting of roughly 500 patients.
Maintained and supplied clinic pharmacy and all necessary medical equipment.
Completed full patient evaluations including treatment and follow up.
Was the administrator responsible for ensuring all medical readiness was completed for all patients/members ensuring all units had the full capacity for deployment.
The U.S. Coast Guard's Health Services Technician Training School includes training in emergency medicine, outpatient clinical practice, inpatient clinic practice, as well as numerous labs and medical procedures.
Training including shadowing/interning at: USCG Training Center Petaluma Medical Clinic, Santa Rose Medical Hospital, Petaluma Medical Hospital, Petaluma Fire Department, and various ALS and BLS medical organizations.
Completion of training included certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, qualification to practice medicine in the Armed Services, and various credit hours in training in Health Care Patient Interaction, Kinesiology, Phlebotomy, etc.
Stationed on a deployable vessel, traveled approximately 50,000 nautical miles to waters in roughly 15 different countries with missions of Maritime Law Enforcement, Search and Rescue, Drug Interdiction, International Service Training, and Special Operations.
Duties on the roughly 300 foot long vessel with 100 service members attached included maintenance and repairs of auxiliary equipment, maintenance and monitoring of main propulsion equipment, trained firefighting team leader, the ship's lead rescue swimmer, law enforcement boarding team member, ship's fuel and ballast technician, ship's lead aviation fuel team member, and emergency medical detachment team member.
