- Execute quantitative PCR (qPCR) to assess gene expression changes in mouse tissue
- Perform molecular biology techniques, including primer design, RNA/DNA extraction, and sequencing preparation
- Operate laboratory instrumentation including microvolume spectrophotometers (e.g., MicroDrop) and sequencing platforms for RNA and DNA sample analysis
- Conduct behavioral assays to evaluate neurological and developmental phenotypes in mouse models
- Perform brain microdissections and cryosectioning for downstream molecular analysis
- Manage mouse colony maintenance, including breeding, weaning, tagging, and genotyping
- Train and mentor undergraduate researchers in laboratory protocols, safety, and documentation best practices
- Record experimental data and maintain source documentation in compliance with good documentation practices (GDP)
- Maintain detailed, organized records to ensure data traceability and reproducibility
