I am writing to state my intention of joining the promotional process for the role of Fire Lieutenant. With over 5 years of working experience as a front-line fireman, as well as over 2 years as an instructor for OC using problem solving, leading and instructing small teams, and conflict resolution skills, I believe I can bring these and other skills to add to this Department.

I am currently at the rank of FF2P in our organization. As the most senior member of the firemen at this station, I have led training, both Fire and EMS as well as assisting my Captain and Lieutenant with organizational skills and planning. I have had multiple chances to fill the role of Lieutenant at our station and have learned valuable skills for this level. I have learned the responsibility, accountability, and the importance that the lieutenant role has attached to it. I have also had the opportunity to be at the lieutenant position for several large fire incidents. My leadership style should I get into this position would be based off accountability, clear communication, and a focus on building and maintaining positive synergy with my crew.
