Dayton Lamina | 04.2011 - Current
Over the past 15 years, I have advanced my career in metal stamping at industry leader Dayton Lamina. I began on the shop floor as a machinist on a double-disk grinder. During my first nine years, I progressed through several work centers, mastering custom manufacturing processes and strict customer specifications.
I then transitioned to the Process Engineering team, leveraging customer data in Siemens NX to create 3D models, manufacturing prints, and precise shop routings. In this role, I also served as an estimator, analyzing customer design files to generate competitive, highly accurate quotes.
In January 2025, I moved to the CAM department to program multi-axis equipment using Siemens NX—generating 3- and 5-axis programs for Dayton’s hard/soft milling centers as well as Okuma, Chevalier, Haas, Weldon, and Rollomatic machinery.
In May 2026, I was promoted to Application Programmer, where I currently develop custom automation tools using NX Open. To date, I have engineered software that fully automates CAM programming for Sodick and Fanuc wire EDM machines as well as hard mill work centers.
