- Transfer up elevation each level and projected it out to other columns and walls using Theodolite
- Shot in surveyed points to close in on grid lines and confirm locations of forms, templates and decks using Leica machines and prisms
- Make pre and post pour as-built plans with Total Stations to track elevations
- Lay out block outs for any kind of openings including but not limited to cranes, stairs, elevator shafts, footings, bolt embeds, planters and balcony's
- Constantly coordinate with engineers to get desired offsets for concrete forms that construction crews need
- Work daily with superintendents, general contractors, foreman, heavy equipment operators, and sub contractors
- Prioritize certain tasks and keep plans along with RFIs organized
- Ensure jobsite specifications for footing schedules, types of walls and their locations, decks and construction joints, ramps with varying elevations, column form elevations and locations for different types of beams
- Read and interpret diagrams and blueprints to determine best techniques for the job
- Plan work based on tasks at hand and what other crews would eventually require to proceed
- Examine project specifications to determine measurements, dimensions and locations
- Calculate accurate material estimates as needed throughout the duration of the project
- Identify and request PPE as well as tools and accessories necessary to perform tasks
- Promote team safety by blocking off or covering hazards
- Follow OSHA and company safety regulations and procedures
- Determine exact location of building layout with survey tools or by tape measure using building grid lines and offsets
- Shape materials to exact measurements for job requirements with hand tools and power equipment
- Cut timber, panels and other types of materials according to measured dimensions
- Anchor and brace forms and other structures in place to complete precise joining
- Create templates for construction crews and sub contractors to follow
- Use various hand and powered tools to perform specific tasks
- Install embeds for stairs, columns, walls, decks and cable railing
- Put up cable railing, netting and toe board to prevent debris from falling off the deck so crews can strip off forms, panels and shoring
- Craft temporary wood stairs, hand railing, decks and wall panels
- Install safety measures including toe board, netting, plastic and plywood to prevent loose debris from falling down where pedestrians or co-workers may be walking
- Make notes of project standards, codes, clearances and material count
- Receive and unload trucks carrying jobsite material from items as large as cunningham beams to as small as a box of nails
- Track elevations and dimensions as work continues to ensure the building is at the specified location
- Create wooden ladders and sawhorses for the beginning of sites, assemble any forms that aren't pre fabricated and prepare tools boxes for crews to use
- Communicate with a crane operator to move materials or large forms while going from one point of the jobsite to the next to hook or unhook the cranes rigging
