As the Facilities Maintenance and Engineering Manager I managed the projects listed below from start to finish:
.Rebuild of the entire Harbor docks infrastructure after the 2011 Tsunami. This task consisted of clean up, dock replacements, both landside and waterside infrastructure.
.Multiple pile driving projects. Evaluation of current piles by making a grade chart of the conditions and changing them out from wood to spun concrete.
.Sink hole Remediation's. One major sink hole was prepared by excavation and filled with rip wrap along with gabion rocks. The second sinkhole involved the knock down of an existing restaurant and replacing approximately 120 feet of PZ40 sheet pile.
.Procurement of a new $4.6 Million dollar dredge. This task involved multiple trips to Mississippi to inspect progress and quality control of the construction of the new dredge.
.Harbor security upgrade. This project consisted of installing cameras in selected locations and fabricating new aluminum gates in house to replace the existing decaying steel gates. This project also included switching over all gate locks and restroom locks to a keyless entry system.
.Boatyard ways girders. Replacement of both north and south boatyard girders at the existing boatyard. This project consisted of stripping the decking off and craning out the cracked girders to replace them with new ones.
.Lift stations pumps were upgraded to Tsuarmi brand with macerating heads. Rewired all sewage lift stations and upgraded control boxes to a Nema 4X with a Raco alarm that sends notification when the pump fails or has loss of echo.
.Paving was an ongoing process and a priority for my facilities budget to replace asphalt where severe potholes and alligatoring occurred annually.
