During my senior year at SDSU, I was invited by my Geochemistry professor to become a research assistant. I prepared and analyzed fresh magma samples from Loihi (Hawaii's youngest volcano) to measure Uranium-234 isotopes with a mass spectrometer. I presented our findings with a poster presentation at the 2009 American Geophysical Union convention in San Francisco.
