- Preparing for future construction seasons by going out in the field and looking at city streets for potential future utility and/or resurfacing/reconstruction projects and performing a cost estimate to provide to the City Design Engineers. Also, inspecting sidewalk complaints by home/business owners and writing up a sidewalk notice if work is needed at the address of concern and turned in for work to be performed in a future Sidewalk Program.

- Review future project plans that are being designed as a quality control/quality assurance check to try to keep extra costs down on the project and also, as a another set of eyes besides the design engineer to make sure the project can be built as it has been designed.

- Overseeing contractors hired by the City of Toledo to perform street resurfacing/reconstruction projects and utility projects in the public right of way, making sure the contractor is performing the work and utilizing materials that are compliant with City of Toledo and State of Ohio Construction Standards. That includes the installation of utilities such as waterlines, sanitary and storm sewers, lighting and traffic sign installation, signage and striping installation. Also, concrete work such curbs, sidewalk, drives and pedestrian curb ramps.

- Maintaining daily reports and work performed daily by the contractor, including personnel working daily and MBE/DBE participation, equipment on-site each day, inspecting maintenance of traffic zones are installed and they are kept up to the Ohio manual uniform traffic control devices, record bid quantities on a daily basis, also generating partial payments based off of bid quantities collected every month and submitting to allow the contractors to be paid for their work.

- Inspecting railroad crossings and subspaces within the City of Toledo to make sure they are in compliance with the City of Toledo standards.

- Working with contractors and utility companies to coordinate work items to be able to move forward with the project efficiently and with no delay.

- Answering home/business owner complaints regarding hazardous sidewalk conditions in front of their property or in their neighborhood, filling out a sidewalk notice for each address based on severity/findings in the field, the complaint then would be submitted for future sidewalk programs.

- Helped setup the yearly sidewalk program and mailings based off of sidewalk notice data collected throughout the year.

- Inspecting subspaces within the City of Toledo to make sure they are structurally compliant with City of Toledo Standards.
