I owe a lot to Suburban Overhead Doors. This position is where I first developed technical skills and knowledge that were fundamental in shaping who I am

  • Battery redundancy and backup
  • Low and high voltage wiring of motors/operators along with their accompanying control stations and interfaces.

This position is where I learned the specifics of fire-rated doors and assemblies.


  • Installing extremely large and heavy assemblies to very strict tolerances.
  • Understanding the operation of and installing fire activated components
  • Testing assemblies during and after installation to ensure proper operation

    I was the technical lead for many amazing custom projects. I was responsible for design, modification, fabrication, and installation of custom critical components needed for reliable and safe operation of just about every type of door in the industry. We developed methods and techniques though use of custom components that allowed us to offer unique and industry advancing installation solutions that were arguably the first of their kind.
