Responsible for the administration of all Respiratory Care modalities on all age groups of patients from neonate through adolescent. Ensures quality control of equipment under the direct supervision of the Medical Director and Department Director. Collaborates with other professionals in and out of the Hospital to ensure effective, efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired outcomes. Provide oxygen administration, invasive and non/invasive ventilation management, administer respiratory medications, and airway management. Provide discharge patient education to care givers to ensure patient compliance. Mentor and educate all staff members of all disciplines on protocols specific to the ED. Assess and triage all levels of acuity and execute respiratory protocols and provide treatment. Act as a liaison between staff from respiratory care department and ED staff. Participate in research and quality improvement projects for the ED and respiratory department. Remain up to date in education on specialized pieces of critical care respiratory equipment and techniques.
