· Manage all aspects of regulatory compliance, including 49 CFR Parts 217, 219, 225, 228, 239, 240, 242, 243, and 270.
· Maintain and update all plans to ensure compliance with FRA and TSA regulations.
· Serve as DER for CFR Part 219 (Drug and Alcohol Testing).
· Act as reporting officer for CFR Part 225 (Accident and Incident Reporting).
· Plan and execute emergency preparedness drills for CFR Part 239.
· Manage and maintain the CFR Part 240/242 certification binders.
· Manage and maintain the CFR Part 270 plan, including performing and tracking Risk-Based Hazard Analysis, and work with Amtrak, Metro-North, and CTDOT to resolve risks.
· Collaborate closely with the Training Supervisor to develop an annual training plan that meets the requirements of CFR Parts 240 and 242.
· Annually review all training provided throughout the year and update the training as needed to ensure that all requirements and new regulations are included in the training courses.
· Work with other supervisors and management on field testing and joint operational testing (with Amtrak, Metro-North, CSX, G&W, FRA, and CTDOT) to ensure rules compliance.
· Collaborate with other host railroads to set up and perform joint testing along the CTrail Hartford Line corridor. This involves setting up locations along the corridor, working with the host railroad to develop a test scenario, and performing the joint test. Additionally, work closely with multiple regulatory agencies (i.e., FRA/TSA) and CTDOT to ensure that all CTrail trains comply with all operating rules and regulations.
