As a warehouse Operative at The Ice Co, i was a reach/lift forktruck driver designated tasks assigned to me on a daily basis such as relocating, dropping out or putting away pallets of ice into mobile warehouse racking in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to all health and safety protocol.

Occasionally if needed, i was designated to loading to help other operatives load pallets into trailers to ensure outloads were never late.

• This role was mostly isolated as i was in a freezer so i developed the skill to work alone and independently
• Occasionally sent to work in a team of three to ensure outloads depart loading bays on time.
• As a responsible and ever-adapting night worker, i was assigned as a stand-in supervisor in any situation where the current supervisor could not make it in to work for whatever the reason.

As a veterinary assistant in training, i was always within arms reach for surgeries and lab studies. Paying close attention to every detail to learn the ins and outs of a Veterinary career. After some time i developed a sense of independence when customers asked health, care and advice related questions and was able to give firm answers to help their understanding of the life they hold responsibility for.

• I gained and developed customer service experience in this role and sometimes regarded as good bedside manner.
• After training thoroughly and studying, i was able to aptly and responsibly educate the community on the general responsibilities and wellbeing of their pets and our patients.
• Assist veterinarian with surgical preparation of patients and during surgical procedures.
• Get patients to their exam rooms and get vital information to maintain their wellness.
• Maintain a sterile and safe work environment; clean laundry and treatment area.

As a kennel hand, i was effectively the guardian for up to 30 dogs at a time. Oakenshaw had two seperate kennels. Rehoming/rescue shelter and a general boarding kennels. I was one of three primary kennel hands looking after the wellbeing of all canine companions within both kennels while on shift. I regulated specific feeding needs of each individual dog, assigned times for socialisation/cleaning/feeding and general walks and playtimes.

I also helped promote various non-profit rehoming and rescue charities within the organisation such as 8BelowHusky rescue.

• Contributed to efficient kennel operations by managing inventory supplies and communicating regularly with management regarding facility needs.
• Developed strong relationships with local veterinarians to facilitate prompt medical care for animals in need.
• Organized special events at the kennel to promote adoption awareness and raise funds for ongoing animal care needs.
• Assisted in rehoming efforts by conducting meet-and-greets with potential adopters to ensure successful adoptions.
