Serve as the Commanding Officer’s direct representative on the bridge, responsible for the safe navigation, maneuvering, and operational readiness of the cutter during underway watches. Act as the Officer of the Deck (OOD) while ensuring compliance with the Navigation Rules (COLREGS/Inland), ship’s orders, and Coast Guard policies.
Manage all gunnery exercises and assist with all law enforcement operations within the Weapons division, supervising 03 enlisted personnel. Responsibilities include ensuring ordnance publications are readily available to weapons personnel, ensuring logs, records, and reports required are properly maintained, maintaining an accurate and complete inventory of all firearms, munitions, and accessories/parts, maintaining the material condition of all ordnance equipment and spaces, Handling all Law Enforcement gear and equipment, coordinating the qualifications of Boarding Officers, Boarding Team Members, and Security Team Watchstanders, ensuring timely completion of evaluations along with facilitating the full qualification of all division members.
