It is important that students have a place to go to before and after school. They need to unwind from their day, participate in activities and socialize with their friends. As a former student and extended day attendee, I can testify why it is important to assist with providing a clean, safe and fun environment for them. Students need to feel comfortable and their parents need to trust that their children will be looked after.

Since the start of my grammar school education, both of my parents have impressed upon me the importance of volunteering. My parents have come in to help with sorting and delivering school supplies, setting and cleaning up after school events and assisting with coaching at athletic events. I know that it is important to be there to continue to help your school community. Since 7th grade, I have been a volunteer at the Catacombs Haunted House. I help out at the annual No Scare event that allows families to visit our haunt, engage in fun activities in our gym and trick-or-treat through a "lights on" haunted house. I have also been asked to come back as a past altar server to help with First Communion and Confirmation mass as well as Fr. O'Connell's Installation mass. Another event I enjoy coming back to help with every year is judging the Science Fair. I am a former student who can truly appreciate all of the time and effort that Mr. Conley, the students and parents have put into their projects.
