Matthhew Yemane

I coached these past three years as the basketball coach at Washington international school both Varsity and Junior Varsity. My first year there it was quite a struggle. I was the head Junior Varsity coach and assistant Varsity coach. 2021 to 2022 the record on Varsity was 0-11. The year after that the Varsity team schedules record was 6-12. This past season we won the conference championship, with the record being 13-3. It was rewarding seeing these young group of guys going from worst in the conference to becoming the conference champions. It was even more rewarding watching them grow up from young boys to young men. Seeing some of these kids breaking out of their shell and stepping up taking leadership roles was very joyful. I also worked for an after school program called Ball2life for the past two years. At several schools like Argyle middle, forest oak middle, Oak view elementary, JoAnn lealeck elementary, Greencastle elementary, Odessa Shannon middle. I’ve worked for another program as a camp counselor at Hooped at several other schools like Lafayette elementary, Stoddert elementary, Oyster Adams elementary, The Torah school, Rochambeau.
